Matthews are delighted to have secured their first scheme for Whitbread PLC by undertaking the structural demolition of the former Merrell Dow research institute in Reading. Starting at the beginning of September, Matthews as principal contractor will undertake a major pre-demolition soft strip exercise, prior to demolishing the superstructure, and associated hardstandings, foundations and landscaping to make way for a new Premier Inn.
