Project Overview

Matthews (Sussex) Limited were contracted by Hill Partnerships to undertake the demolition and site clearance of this large site, this was phase 4 after we had successfully completed the previous phases.

Matthews experienced team had to soft strip the number of residential flats.  Removing a large quantity of asbestos containing materials.  The buildings were then demolished sequentially allowing for maximum recycling from the site and helping towards the required BREEAM excellent rating.

With five demolition specific excavators undertaking the works the original programme of sixteen weeks was comfortably achieved, and additional elements were added to the contract to advance the build programme, the installation of a large piling mat and working alongside the groundworker to maximise the overall client programme.

• Hazardous waste removal
• Demolish superstructure
• Demolish and remove substructure
• Bulk excavation and muck away of surplus materials
• Leave site in a clean, tidy and safe condition on completion

Project Considerations

The high level demolition and dust created during the works in the dry hot conditions.
